Meet DOE Energy Efficiency Requirements for Lighting Products
As an industry leader and as a testing lab utilized by the DOE, Intertek has the accreditations, expertise, and state-of-the-art laboratories around the world to fulfill the testing you require to ensure your lighting product stays in compliance with minimum energy efficiency requirements.
Lighting manufacturers should be aware of the latest US Department of Energy (DOE) regulations and test methods for lighting. In 2016 the DOE published the final rule on the test method phase for future regulation of integrated LED bulbs (lamps) imported into the United States, with the rule and its requirements are effective as of July 2016. The DOE rule specifies the use of IES LM-84-14 data and IES TM-28-14 calculations.
Intertek’s tip sheet LED Lamps: LM-84 & DOE Rules outlines new test methods, which methods remain the same, key differences between DOE and ENERGY STAR® test methods, and recommended next steps for manufacturers.
